First iPhone 4 Gyroscope Game Reviewed

Ngmoco’s new iPhone 4 gun game is probably one of the first games to harness the new phones gyroscope feature. I’ve only had a quick play on the Eliminate: Gun Range app myself but the control and responsiveness are excellent and the app definitely shows what the new iPhone 4 is capable of.The game is quiet simple in function you basically work your way through a number of gun ranges shooting targets with increasing firepower as you advance.

The game controls do show the way forward for iPhone 4 game developers and it will be interesting to see how the iPhone 4′s gyroscope is used in new games both FPS and more imaginative concepts.

What we think of the iPhone 4 two weeks on...

iPhoneFour.co.uk were one of the lucky few to get an iPhone 4 on launch day, and we dont think it would be fair to write a review on it hours after it was out of the boxes. So here we are 2 weeks later with our list of loves and hates...so far

What we love

  • Classy feel the glass all round really makes it step up a level, not that the 3gs ever looked cheap

  • The hi def screen (everything is so much sharper with the increased resolution

  • Camera flash ( we didnt expect much from the flash as its LED but we were quite shocked, thumbs up to Apple)

  • HD video recording (using this at a recent party looking at the footage you think it was taken on a camcorder)

What we hate

  • The fact that some of our current apps were buggy for few weeks as developers sorted updates (IM plus, Brother in Arms 2 and graphic issues in Facebook)

  • My iPhone docking alarm clock wont work with it, and my car kit will charge it but wont output audio!
  • That more iPhone4 Apps werent released for launch I have more hardware including an extra camera give me apps that use them please developers!

So as you can see there are a lot more loves than hates and it most of our hates have been ironed out, what are you loving on hating about your new phone? Email us info@iphonefour.co.uk

App Magnets - iPhone up your fridge!

Wanna stick a few notes on the fridge? There’s an app for that. Well okay, there isn’t. But just in case you can’t bear to look at your fridge door without gawping at a handful of suitably app-ish logos, App Magnets are just the ticket.

Inspired by the whole app phenomenon, these ultra cool fridge magnets look just like app icons. There are 18 in all, from weather and email to maps and music. Even if the only apple you own is rotting in the fruit bowl, at least you can tell smug screen-fiddlers you’ve got an iFridge. Sort of.

iPhone 4's Only Case So Far...

With the launch of the iPhone 4 only days away as far as we have seen there is currently one case on the market for the public to buy. Shocking that such a big device in the techy world hasnt got a few at least ahead of launch. The "bumper" doesnt even protect the rear of the phone, as appears it likes to show off both the shine glass panels. Choose one of six colours — white, black, blue, green, orange or pink. Lets hope some more cases pop up soon for iphone 4 owners!

Is nDrive the best value app on the iPhone?

With all the major satnav brands now having their own iphone app giving you turn by turn voice navigation we ask you the public is the amazing nDrive Satnav app the best value app in the appstore?

At only £4.99 (currently) this app turns your iPhone into a fully functional satnav with all the features of its competitors but for around 10% of the price!

Does more glass mean more screen protectors?

With the new iPhone 4 having glass front and back mean we all need double the amount of screen protectors to keep our device safe?

As all the breakthrough technology in iPhone 4 is situated between two glossy panels of aluminosilicate glass — the same type of glass used in the windshields of helicopters and high-speed trains. Chemically strengthened to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic, the glass is ultradurable and more scratch resistant than ever.

Only time will tell...or should I say wear and tear.
